What Face Data Does CliqueLink Collect?
CliqueLink does NOT collect, store, or transmit any face data.
Our application uses Apple's AVFoundation framework for real-time face detection only during the account verification process. Specifically:
- Face Detection (Not Collection): The app uses
AVCaptureMetadataOutput with AVMetadataFaceObject to detect the presence of a face in real-time
- No Data Storage: No face images, face templates, biometric data, or any face-related data is stored on the device or transmitted to servers
- Local Processing Only: All face detection happens locally on your device using iOS system APIs
- Temporary Detection: The face detection is only active during the verification screen and stops immediately when you navigate away

Face detection is used exclusively for identity verification during account creation to ensure that a real person is creating the account (not a bot or automated system).
Process:
- You open the face verification screen during account creation
- Your device's camera activates and detects if a face is present in the frame
- If a face is detected, you can proceed to the next step
- If no face is detected, you receive an error message
- No images or data are captured or stored
Scope: Face detection is only used during initial account creation/verification, not used anywhere else in the app.
